Three slip and falls in mere minutes caught on camera

Seven years ago, a young girl was walking through the Mall of America in Minneapolis, Minnesota when she slipped and fell. This happened in a food court at the facility. The entire incident was caught on camera. She suffered a knee injury that never healed appropriately, ultimately preventing her from participating in sports that she once enjoyed.

What are temporary disability benefits in California?

Just as in any other kind of accident, a workplace injury can vary in severity. Some workers suffer scrapes, bruises and cuts that hurt and are annoying, but have little to no impact on their ability to perform their jobs. Other injuries, though, leave individuals disabled and unable to work ever again. Since workers whose workplace injuries are severe enough to knock them out of work may be able to recover workers' compensation, the system differentiates between injury severity and, therefore, benefits that can be paid out.

Injuries, fatalities on the rise for bikers and pedestrians

Pedestrians and bicyclists are two groups of people that are vulnerable out on the road. When cars collide with them, any pedestrian and/or bicyclist is likely to suffer terrible injuries. These injuries could change their lives forever, or leave them suffering and in immense pain for an extended period of time. And when this happens as a result of negligence on the part of a motor vehicle driver, then the legal consequences must reflect that.

Occupational cancer and workers' compensation

Our blog has spent a lot of time discussing workplace injuries and how they can affect not only an individual's ability to work, but also to maintain financial stability. While many Californians find themselves in this situation, where they are overwhelmed by their lost wages and unexpected medical expenses, many others find themselves in just as dire of a condition, perhaps even worse, when they are hit by a workplace illness.

Reports: 90 million dogs in the US, 4.5 million bites per year

According to a survey performed by the American Pet Products Association found that there are roughly 90 million dogs owned in the United States. When you combine that number with a figure from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which says that about 4.5 million people are bitten by dogs every year, it is easy to see the potential problems that can occur as a result of dogs and dog owners. The highest rate for dog bites is for kids aged 5-9.
