Four cars were involved in a fatal car accident recently in Brentwood, California, and now the police are looking for answers to the wreck. The crash occurred when a truck crashed into the back of a Ford Fusion. Those two vehicles were then pushed forward into two other vehicles. A man in the Fusion was killed in the wreck, while people in both of the other two vehicles that were enveloped in the crash needed hospitalization. The man who caused the crash, the driver of the truck, did not need hospitalization.
Though the police do not believe that drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash, the question now is “how did it happen?” Was the driver distracted? Was it just an accident? Was the driver speeding?
Until the investigation is complete, there isn’t much to go on. Investigations into car accidents can take some time, but the final word that they provide allows the victims of the wreck to use the conclusion as evidence and support for any civil lawsuit they may file against the person who caused the crash.
Another factor to realize about this crash is that when many vehicles are involved in a wreck, it can be complicated to deal with liability. Usually the liability is shared, with more blame going to certain parties than others. Dealing with insurance companies can be tricky in these situations too, so it is a good idea to consult with a personal injury attorney before proceeding further.
